This is Wyreth, a version of the Atlantis play by e-mail strategy game, the last iteration of which saw me bestride the world like a colossus.

A new game is about to begin. Your faction needs you! And yes, that's your faction as in "faction that belongs to you". Total Power! Wage War, Trade Goods, Levy Taxes, Recruit Armies Be crushed beneath my booted heel.

Rules can be found here.

The fellow who runs it can be contacted at (excuse the pitiful attempt to avoid email harvesting bots here) jtolly at ginger-wizard dot co dot uk.

Advisor, the program that turned the text based game into that pretty map above, and can take the grind out of submitting orders (Very, very helpful if you want to keep your innumerable legions fed without resorting to a spreadsheet) can be found here.

Come on, you all know you miss gaming with me :-)

This reminds me of Winterdeep, which NickK and I played on, looks similar too.

I played winterdeep too - took the WETC to glorious victory and various other factions to ignoble defeat. Wyreth is similar in that it's a fantasy strategy game with skilled hero characters, but it's much less abstracted. Rather than outfitting a unit of cavalry for some generic resource, you must breed horses, recruit men, train them in combat and riding, mine iron, smelt it into swords, etc, etc.

Can you ever get to London? Like, one Sunday afternoon a month? With people?

If so, my friend needs you...

:P

403 Forbidden.

Given my level of clearance, I find that rather insulting :-P

well Tsk... *laugh* I'll see if she wants to Recruit. She's basically looking for a load of people interested in playing trans-Umbral 'free traders' with an Ethership in Live Mage, starting Marchish, in London on one Sunday afternoon a month. :)

Tempting? :)

Um, when and where? I might, depending on if I'd have to blow an entire train ticket on it, or would have a chance for museums, shows and whatnot.

information available (I was waiting for someone to tell me when and where Mage would be...) on [info]zeitgeist_lj; in very short form, 4th Sunday of the month, in the afternoon - so from around 1ish till about 5.30ish. If you'd be interested in bringing friends, cool; if not, likewise fine. We have crash if you don't mind sofas or air mattresses if you want to be around for the weekend...

Oh, and Abi Collis (bouncyinsomniac) says she knows you. Don't know if that's a plus point or a minus, but... ;)

When/where: http://www.allinlondon.co.uk/clubs_bars/venue-2387.php, Sunday 29 Jan, from 1pmish. If you care. Bring friends. :) It's an all-purpose character gen, pre-game plotting and avoid-all-the-darn-Hermetics session... :)
